Best of The Best Ultrabooks

Ultrabooks are being touted as the next big thing in computer world. People are tired of carrying big and bulky laptops with them and now, they want something that is as light as iPad, but productive as their laptop that would allow them to work on the move. Here is the list of best ultrabooks of the year 2013.


Lenovo U410 - The Lenovo U410 was one of the first to be launched in the European and Indian market. The U410 comes with 14.1 inch display and packs 1366 x 768 pixel resolution. Performance is top notch, thanks to very powerful Intel Core i5 3317u processor and Intel HD 4000 graphics. Other specs include a full size HDMI port, gigabit LAN and headphone jack. It retails for $1000.




Toshiba Satellite U50T - If you find the U410 a bit too big for your everyday use, consider taking a look at the Toshiba Satellite U50T. It packs the same Core i5 3317u CPU but features a smaller 13.3 inch screen. You get 500GB hard disk for storage and 32SSD as scratch disk. Specs include 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and Windows 7 home premium 64 bit operating system.




Asus UX31 - We have been waiting for the Asus to launch the Zenbook in the market and it is finally here. The company has launched Zenbook UX31 that has a very high resolution, 1600 x 900 pixel screen, which will allow you to edit two documents at the same time. Its specs include mini VGA, HDMI, Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. OS is Windows 7 home basic (64 bit, of course). Price is around $2000 in the US and 1 lakh rupees in India.








  • Samsung Series 5 13.3 - If you are a fan of Samsung brand and want a Samsung ultrabook, look no further than the Series 5 13.3 model. It has the Core i5 2467m processor and Intel HD 3000 for graphics. Like Lenovo U510, you get full size HDMI port as well LAN for local Ethernet. Series 5 retails for $1000 in the US.



  • Samsung Np900X1b - There are very few ultrabooks that feature a full HD screen and one of them include the Series 9 Np900X1b. This one packs full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) in its 13.3 inch screen. Graphics are handled by the Intel HD 3000. Processor is Intel Core i5 2467M that has two cores which are capable of handling up to 4 threads at a time. Since the frame of its chassis is so thin, Samsung had to go in for micro HDMI and smaller LAN port. This ultrabook retails for $1800 in the US and 87,000 rupees in India.
