Getting Familiar With OSX Mountain Lion (10.8)

Mountain Lion is still perceived as an OS that is hard to understand or get through, especially when you have recently upgraded your system to Mountain Lion 10.8. However, if you follow some easy tips it will make easier for you to get familiar with this new software and help you understand more about it.
iCloud
The first thing that comes to the mind is synchronizing your other Apple devices with your Mac. In order to perform this operation you need to turn on the iCloud that will allow you to synchronize. Go to Settings and log in using your Apple ID. Then turn all the corresponding devices that you want to connect via iCloud.

Power on the apps that you would like to synchronize, for example you want to synchronize contacts then turn on the Contacts apps on your devices (iPad and iPhone). Additionally you can also synchronize Safari reminders, bookmarks, calendars and notes. You can choose to synchronize services by turning on the relative app.
iMessage Functionality

Log into the account using your Apple ID in FaceTime and add the list of people who are already using this app. You can even choose to add people who are not on mobile device as with iOS6 integration you will be able to chat in real time with FaceTime with mobile users also.
Turn on the Twitter
Twitter is integrated with the Mountain Lion to enable URL sharing, pictures and tweeting immediately. Initially you need to set up the account for it, Settings> Login Twitter from here on you can enable it.
Setting Alerts
After making the necessary changes in your iMessage app you need to turn on the notifications so that you can regularly get alert messages. This way whenever you receive a new message you will get an alert. Create alert for iMessage by going to Settings>Notifications, from here you can choose to set notifications for apps for receiving alerts. Similarly, if you do not want to receive notifications then you can turn it off by following the same process as mentioned.
